Sudden squeal
I decided to check my spark plugs this afternoon and put a little grease on the threads just as a precaution. Also, not to mention it was rainging today, so when I opened my hood, a little bit of water dripped into the engine bay. I take a glance at my crank positon sensor and see there is a saftey pin stuck in the one hole where the one wire goes into the plug. I grabbed the plug between my pointed finger and thumb and accidently pushed the pin into the plug slightly more. When I started the car the belt starts to squeal out of nowhere.
A little bit of water may have dripped onto the acc. belt but I took the car for a drive and the squeal has decreased slightly but didn't fully go away. I wouldn't think a few drips would cause this.
My real question is, could this at all be because of the crank position sensor? First of all, why would somebody put a pin into the plug? (I bought the car USED by the way) and could this possibly be the problem? No CEL. No driveability issues. Just an annoying squeal.
Any ideas?

people put pins into sensors and harnesses so they can test a particular circuit w/ a voltmeter or multimeter. you can get a signal w/o having to splice into the wire.
most likely the pin in the crank sensor isn't the cause of your prob. worst case is that the pin shorted with something else(not likely), but in that sense your engine wouldn't even start if it had a bad crank signal.
squeal is usually caused by a improperly tensioned belt.
did you have your car serviced recently?

The pin had nothing to do with it. You answered your own question. Water on the belt.
Now if the belt continues to squeel in a couple days youll need a new one. The slipping will have caused a glaze on the belt and the squeel wont ever go away.

Yeah I didn't think the crank sensor would have anything to do with it, but the pin caught me off guard. I let it run for a few minutes to get it a chance to throw a CEL, but it never did.
I may have answered my own question, but I just wanted to run it by more of you mostly likely more experienced guys, haha. I had the timing belt replaced over 5k ago by a friend who builds DSM's.
We'll see how it goes I guess

The noise has decreased today, but still there after the car is warmed up. It's only heard at idle. I don't feel like changing the serp. belt. It looks like a friggin pain to do. Does it really take a few days for this to go away?
