I wish I could find it again, but the guy who said it, his name is Dustin, and he works at BC. It was an email sent btwn him and a customer who bought the stroker kit. they use a 6" rod and the kit is fully system balanced. I suppose that is the reason for ts revability

GT28RS with a 34mm restrictor (turbo inlet) we made 500ft/lb before 3500RPM when it was in the Rally car...... I expect monster with the 40R.

Results! I've talking to Mike about this 2.6L with a 50 Trim making some serious low end trq, I'm not ready to jump in yet, but I'm sure it will be wicked to see a 40R!

I'd love to see the 40 with a 2.5 or 2.6 and TS mani.

That's nuts. I've never heard anything like that. Can you post where you read that. Not calling you out, I'm just curious.
From what I can guess the rod is much longer than a traditional one, from what I have seen in order to install the rod/crank combo you need to machine away lower sections of the cylinders in order to make clearance from the rods as they come that much further out in relation to the centerline of the path of the rod on the crank side that it contacts a stock block.

If all the displacement is gained in rod length and not bore it should be just as robust pending the taking away of the lower walls doesn't take away too much strength.

I recall the rod length being more in the 5.9--" area. as far as the specific length I do not recall an exact number just the 5.9' rod plus the 106mm stroke and the 87.5mm bore= big displacement, and thus, big power. I cant wait to do this myself.

The problem is that when you increase the stroke you greatly increase piston speed, which places huge loads on the engine internals when the pistons are forced to change direction (TDC and BDC). A strengthened bottom-end and valvetrain can reduce these effects but they can only handle so much, plus they don't do much to help the piston rings which are highly susceptible to the increased loads.

I did some piston speed calculations several years ago when I went to a 2.3 and when I started to go up in stroke the piston speeds at higher RPM's started to get crazy, like 600cc sport bike crazy. And this is with a LOT larger piston/higher weight.

If they say that it will hold together then I guess it will, Bill Crower knows what he is doing. We used to run a crank in an A Econo Dragster that Crower made out of a piece of solid billet. It was $$$$ but it also stood up to 10,000+ RPM's in a 439" big block for hundreds of passes with no issues.
