boost problems HELPPP
i recently installed an o2 housing. and i dont have my o2 sensor back in yet.... im not driving until i get my new o2 sensor buttt.. right after the install i was driving and it seems i am having some serious boost creep. i have my boost controller turned way down to about wastegate psi.. which is 15? i could be wrong because what is happening is it will hit 15 psi... and then once i get into higher rpms.. at a decent spend peak all the way up till? who knows where... i stop when its at about. 23 24 psi any idea what else could be wrong or is this due to my o2 sensor not being hooked up?

Please don't go WOT without a front 02 sensor.
I just had a Evo 9 on the dyno the other day. The owner installed some cams and forgot to plug back in the front 02 sensor.
The car was 1 full point leaner on the first WOT pull before I got out of the throttle.
12.1 instead of 11.1
Plugged the 02 in, all was fine again.

What's the matter with your original O2 sensor anyway? Can't you plug it back in until you get a new one? Or just bite the bullet and buy a new one pronto. At any rate, the lack of a primary O2 sensor is not a contributing factor to the boost creep which you are experiencing. The boost creep is a separate issue. You may be right about an undersized crossover opening in your new O2 housing being a possible cause of the creep. Did you get a chance to measure it before you installed it?

You'll notice that the opening is not perfectly circular, but rather oval or egg shaped. The diameter of a quarter is too small. Mine measures between 33mm and 35mm and I've never had a creep issue yet with three different turbos. You could try hogging it out a bit more to somewhere between 34-36mm at its widest diametrical measurement.
I've had this problem with several of the cars I've owned.
Best Fix: eliminate fuel cut from the ECU with a flash. Don't worry, your boost will not go to infinity...
Or you can bore the wastegate hole, but that's too much work.
Or you can introduce another restriction into the exhaust to slow it down (i.e. a catalytic converter)

megan o2 housing.. the o2 sensor even with the o2 sensor socket and some heat on it... ended up rounding it. and what part of the o2 housing is..aandrewzaragoza reffering to?
and sparky mentions this too.....sena ivey told me to call him and he would sort everything out for me...but i think i will just grab an o2 sensor... hoepfully everythign goes back to normal.. and my boost levels were perfect before all this... no creep normal taper etc. obviously everyone sees my mods in my signature. i will be going to ivey as soon as possible for a tune as well.
Yeah I have the same issue, either add the stock one back on or a cat to get some more backpressure, port it, or get a new one with a bigger opening for the wastegate....That's pretty much your best option right there.
well honestly...i called ivey said the megan o2 housing shouldnt have the problem i was having...anddd what do u know i finally got my o2 sensor out of the stock o2 housing...and put it back in and the problem isnt happening anymore...
