My poor 35r

Pulled off my turbo setup to change exhaust housings and this is what i find

What could of caused this? Too hot EGT? Doesn't look like somethings contacted the blades. They look like they've melted off.

These cant be rebuilt unless i get a local turbo shop to rebuild it using silicon nitride bearings and a new higher temp rated inconel wheel, costs about $800 though. Maybe im better off buying a HTA, anyone know the lead time to get a new one?

My poor naked motor

air filter is fine, if you look closley at the way the blades are damaged it doesnt look like they have been hit. Either way its fubar, just want to know why it happened so i can stop it from happening again

I'd say go for the HTA if your car is already down...
