Another new PUMP gas record, thanks Driven Innovations
We all would like to see it just go down the track.
Cool, Would'nt it be cool to have a street car that revs to 10K and makes that much power for 6500 all the way to 10K. I completely understand your reasoning of not tuning a customers car to that on pump. I guess what I'm trying to say is maybe the idea of a 42R on the street not being feasible need to be rethought?
The set up of BAD BISH is about as close to the ideal street car as you can get.
Al
I have a lot of cars to tune this week that have to get done before I can go play - if not this weekend then maybe next wed

Starting "MikeDriving" to teach people how to drive. tips and tricks.
But to see someone throw a tune on the car that I guess for whatever reason isn't safe and make a number and on top of it be afraid and worried about doing it.... well it just seems a bit lame.
Why not tune the car safely on pump? If you know how to listen to det properly, what are you worried about?
That may be true Al. I know that many Evo owners, myself included do some things that may be considered not sane. I think many people have been questioning the sanity of Badbish's car. I on the other hand love insanity.

The reality is that the extra lag is not worth the additional power gains over say a HTA Gt35 or a T67 P Trim. At 30 psi to 36 PSi the better choice IMHO on the street is one of the smaller turbos.
Of course once you start to go over 45 psi the Gt42 just keeps making more and more power whil the other snails are game over.
The problem of course is that the lag between shifts starts to eat away much of your power advantage and with huge power your car becomes less reliable.
I was the first to go 9's on a Gt35 - at that point my car was unbeatable - this was over 3 years ago. Its a hard combination to beat on the street as evidenced by the Booost Brothers Dave and Dan Buschur who both drive 9 second street driven Evos!

thanks for the insight...I've been eyeing the 67 but wondered if 42 would be overkill for the street. But I'm getting ahead of myself, I haven't tapped out the 35R yet
just thing if your turbo never spooled on the street you would have a less of chance getting pulled over for speeding tickets lol.

I don't pretend to be an expert. I was merely making an observation of a video you posted. I would have loved to see a video of you casually tuning the car and behaving like a pro. Then in my opinion, I would have been like, "coooool".
But to see someone throw a tune on the car that I guess for whatever reason isn't safe and make a number and on top of it be afraid and worried about doing it.... well it just seems a bit lame.

It started as me just pouring in some cheap pump gas to check the fuel lines and get the car started and breaking it in on low boost - after all the hoopla I just started to push things a bit further and it happend so easily it was not a big deal
In order to judge if what I am doing "is lame" I guess we would have to see what you are doing - where are your track records and videos?
Al you mean the 76 mm wheel machined to fit the 42r cover? what size twin scroll housing?
How about weight Mr. Al, are you not taking more weight out of the thing? If you say you felt giant waste of time as I have no interest to run pump gas ever in this car. Why dont you just go all out this year. Light as you can make it and go as fast as you can. try and go just as fast or faster then BR Drag Car.
sounds like you are keeping your customers above your fun time, which is very commendable. when you get the time, well be looking foward to some of your youtube videos
