thanks for doing that pump gas pull Al, I've been wondering what a 42R + badass supporting mods could do like that. I know that was a glory run but still it's pretty incredible.
No offence to Al... but he was literally afraid to map his car on pump. I mean that really wouldn't inspire me as a customer of a tuner, if they are afraid to map their own car.
#1 - No matter what anyone does there is always a "keyboard warrior" negative toxic 'expert' like yourself to spil their high
#2 - I have prob mapped more Evos on pump gas than anyone else and I have no fear to do so.
#3 - When you are appraching 800 whp on PUMP gas - I have serious concerns about the reason for doing it and the raitionality of doing it. I do these kind of experiments on my own car just to further my art of tuning. There is no intention to do this on customer's cars.
#4 - And most importantly - I would never tune any customer's car to 800 whp on pump gas - period so it does not matter how I feel about doing it on my own car - anyone who wants that kind of power can do meth injection or run race gas or go to another tuner as I wont tune them on pump gas.

PS - I wont be headed to the track on Saturday - I have too many customer cars to tune and a lot of loose ends to take care of on my car before I hit the track - soon enough I will be there and run my first 9 second pass for '08
Cool, Would'nt it be cool to have a street car that revs to 10K and makes that much power for 6500 all the way to 10K. I completely understand your reasoning of not tuning a customers car to that on pump. I guess what I'm trying to say is maybe the idea of a 42R on the street not being feasible need to be rethought?
The reality is that the extra lag is not worth the additional power gains over say a HTA Gt35 or a T67 P Trim. At 30 psi to 36 PSi the better choice IMHO on the street is one of the smaller turbos.
Of course once you start to go over 45 psi the Gt42 just keeps making more and more power whil the other snails are game over.
The problem of course is that the lag between shifts starts to eat away much of your power advantage and with huge power your car becomes less reliable.
I was the first to go 9's on a Gt35 - at that point my car was unbeatable - this was over 3 years ago. Its a hard combination to beat on the street as evidenced by the Booost Brothers Dave and Dan Buschur who both drive 9 second street driven Evos!
