Just upgraded to a BR3065, should I put the heavy RED spring in Forge Diverter?

Wasnt sure if this was completely necessary or not, but I currently have the regular spring & 2 washers that came with the forge which worked great for the stock turbo.

But now that ive upgraded to this 3065, is it recommend to upgrade to the RED heavy spring (+washers?) ? I will be running the same amount of boost, 22psi, but obviously this turbo flows more CFM, so whats your opinion?

Thanks

Keep the springs the same. You'll take a hit on drivability if you switch and shouldn't have any leaking issues at the same boost pressure.

^^I agree...........u may even want to change back to the 9DV for drivability reasons. I have the Forge evo15 DV and get flutter at partial throttle in 5th gear.

I have been running the Forge on this particular car for 8 months now, no issues.

I also ran the same valve on my turbo Miata for 8 months. Good valve.

What about for race gas, red spring for sure i'd say.

Are you using the blue one now, or yellow?

Whatever comes with it from Forge. I believe I have a yellow one/red one in the garage though.

i have the stock turbo with the red spring and all shims - a 3065 def needs that!

yeah drive ability sucks, but you learn - the learning curve is steep though, part throttle takes finesse!

I would try the blue medium spring first. (unless that is the one you are using)

I use the blue one, tried the red but my car was stalling with it.

The IX is going to leak with this turbo and the boost he is going to run. Partial throttle is going to suck but that is one of the things you are going to have to learn to live with. To some it is no big deal. Even the blue spring has been known to leak. The red is the only optimal choice for this setup.
