Damaged Transfer Case pictures

So I bought this transfer case used from a member here, It got shipped to me on a box with just some newspaper in it., and it got damaged by fedex. I didnt know untill I opened the box so never got to tell fedex that they screwed up. Anyways, I need to know if it can be fixed., maybe hammered back into shape? or do this part need to be sealed? if not ,can i just remove my TC from my car and swap the internals? mine has the death whine. I need some experts to chime in. thanks.

I'd file a claim man. That doesn't look repairable.

thats just a dust shield. not even needed really. you slide that one off and use the one from the whining case. that damage is not even worth a thread. you are lucky one of the mounting eyes didnt break off. happens all the time. even that has no effect on how the case works.

You can even buy that dust cover from the dealer for about $10.

I agree no biggie, It is a PIA when people don't properly package the stuff they sell. I had a FMIC come to me from a member with the outlet pretty much closed up. You should be happy it was'nt worse.

From the looks of it you should be alright. (Cuz its looks like this horse hasnt been beaten enough) the Dust shield is an easy fix and a cheap part you could probably pull it off your old one too. Good Luck!

The IC looked too big for the box and it just could'nt handle the outlet of the IC pushing on it. Eventually it popped through the box and proceeded to get pretty smushed. I take pride in how I ship things to those who buy and trade from me. I'm sure you were aware by the way I packaged my IC to you. It was in no way shape or form too big for the box I put it in and you commented on how well it was packed. I would have enjoyed the same courtesy. I did'nt even name you specifically as the seller or leave you a negative feedback so I really don't know why you would put your .02. Cost me $20 Bucks to get my IC fixed right, cost me 20 bucks in the materials needed to package the IC I traded you properly in order for it to arrive safely. Live and learn
