You can guess what the outcome would be, the only way to know for sure would be to try each and see. Be weary of backpressure, you can check the turbine inlet pressure on the twin

I was under the assumption that a twin scroll spools faster and makes more top end. It just isn't common because it is more expensive.

true, but getting the correct housing is impossible at this stage
