Removing Front Axles....

I am trying to remove the Front Passenger axle but it seems like its stuck on there it wont come out...

I have everything out of the way u can just sell the axles hanging in there. over the Lower control arm. I have removed the caliper off , rotor, hub and all....

is there a special way or tool to remove the axle... and yea its not in gear neither....

use either a rubber mallet or place a piece of wood on the threaded end and hit it with a hammer....

what I did was put a 17mm socket on the fill plug. then that gave me a good leverage point. then I would pry on the axle right were it came out of the transfer case. it's hard to explain. but if you just put the socket on there and get under there with a pry bar. you'd see what I'm talking about.

Some of the answers above are for getting the splines out of the hub. Others are for getting the inboard splined end out of the transfer case. It would be useful for you to clarify which end you're working on.

If it's the inboard end, you need to pry it out in a way that pulls it past the retaining snap ring, which is in a groove in the end of the axle that's inside the transfer case. A pry bar with the socket as a fulcrum (as described above) is one way to do it. You need to locate the prybar on the larger part of the axle housing, then hit it with the palm of your hand sharply to "snap" the axle retaining ring past the retention groove and release the axle. Sometimes turning the axle (spinning it a little) will help, while you use the pry bar.

need to bring this back.
ive taken out my axles quiet a few times already. but for some reason the pass side will not come out of the hub this time. its usually simple the threaded side on the end doesnt slid in out like it used to its just stuck. is there a reason they get stuck or is it just dirt in there?

Sometimes the axle will get corroded or rusted in, where it splines into the hub. Have you tried placing a piece of wood over the end of the axle, and hitting it with a decent sized hammer?
