Me and My clutch job!

Does this look right to you guys? Besides Injen putting their label on upside down.......

Here is the progress I am making, little ole me lugging that tranny out haha I busted both my *****.....

I didnt think I was going to do it, but I actually built the tool needed haha I have weird luck

And as Liz was away she managed to find someone in the parking lot that wanted to back into her while she was in a store. It was a hit and run, cross our fingers the ruling is in our favor. She was foreign, claims she didnt know she had to stop and report it.....BS!!!

lookin good man! i managed to do mine without having to drop the subframe, i figured screw it, ill just get another 200 pound guy to help get the sucker back in there ha.

i would definitely do it again though since i know all the tricks now, but i definitely got stumped on some stuff, like you DEFINITELY need a slide hammer. oh and be sure and watch the egr solenoid on the back of the intake manifold, or else you'll be replacing that when ur all done ha.

i ended up bleeding the ACD too which definitely isnt all its cracked up to be. getting to that bolt behind the ACD with air tools is not gonna happen without disconnecting that line, in my opinion. bleeding it was a snap, took all but lik a minute or two.

it was a pain in the **** but definitely worth the $500+ labor cost a shop would charge you, plus you learn alot about the insides of your car .

You need the slide hammer to take out the shaft that goes from the trans to the transfer case.

Why didn't you drop the subframe before taking out the trans?

I never disconnected the banjo bolt on my ACD. Didn't think the bolt behind it was that hard to get to. I even bought a set of crow's feet and never used them. Dropping the subframe makes all the difference of getting to that bolt.

Excellent! I'd like to do the clutch on my evo over the winter and take my time to do it myself. Shop wanted like $600 for labor alone! Plus the kit I want is like $500.

I don't think it was extremely difficult removing the trans with the sub frame in...I had to remove the ACD line though to get to that damn bolt.

The subframe should not be modified for a clutch job. It will screw up your alignment and is not required.

Its needs an alignment anyways and it is required for me because I am doing it myself on my back 16 inches off the ground....making my life a hell of alot easier......Im happy with it

Good job so far! I'd love to do the clutch myself too. Just need a backup car so I can leave the Evo in the garage and take my time.
