Fluidampr's..........get them while you can.

Actually it's NOT solid. There is an inertia ring housed inside the silicone gel. The ring shears through the fluid to absorb the harmonics and it works at all RPM's. Nothing to deteriorate or wear out like the stock piece. It's effectiveness also isn't limited to a particluar RPM range like the stock damper. Thought you'd know this since you had such a helping hand in their development.
The factory damper works well on a STOCK shortblock. Once you change the mass of the rotating assembly you will find it's weak spot. The problem is that the factory damper is tuned to work at only one frequency. Once you change the mass using aftermarket rods and pistons, the frequency moves to a different spot in the powerband rendering the stock elastomer type balancer useless because it isn't 'tuned' for this particular frequency.
I find this funny as we were the ones contacted by Fluidampr in regards to developing the Evo series Fluidampr as well as DSM dampers. We met with them at PRI in Indy back in 2001 to get the project started and have been working with them to develop thier products ever since. I also find it funny that when the Evo dampers were first introduced you touted how they were a waste and that the stock piece was fine.

Jackson Machine, you in one of my threads again trying to get me fired up? I thought we agreed to leave each other alone.
What I meant by "solid" is the outer body of it is solid so there is no chance for the two pieces to seperate like the stock one. Thanks though.........
I am running the factory damper on my RS still..........would you like to see the insides of my engine after 2 years of running up to 10,000 rpm, hundreds of dyno and track runs? Thanks again for your useless input.
You can find whatever you like funny about what I said. I can provide the tracking numbers for shipping parts back and forth to them so they could make the products if I needed to. Since I feel the only one here who is having a hard time believing me is YOU, I say I don't need to do crap.
Now I have some advise. Go to work and learn how to port heads and build engines. Leave my threads alone. We can get as ugly as you wish but the last email I got from you was asking that we just ignore each other. Did you change your mind?
You have been moved to the top of the DB list.

Not sure why I wasted my time but I did look into this and our contact and guy we worked with at Horschell Motorsports/Fluidampr was Fred Roland, who has since regretably, passed away. Now keep your stupid inaccurate comments to yourself.
Dustin... Seriously, do you need to add any more **** to the fan?? Fuel to the fire?? Move on...
Dave... I'm trying to gather funds to pick one of these up from you. I'll keep you posted...
Cheers-
Erich

We need a sticky for the DB list... Lets start 1 on your forum

Good info on the dampeners Dave. Back oh i dont know... 6 months or so. Your boy PD, was showing me the 1 on the tube car, it looked like a very nice peice. If I recall he did tell me you had something to do with the design of it. He was saying I should get one. I told him "If Dave says I need one, well then I will get one".
