Fluidampr's..........get them while you can.
Hi guys,
For those of you that are drag racing there is a rule in the rule book stating that you must us an SFI approved damper on the engine.
We had in a hand in helping Fluidampr develop their EVO and DSM's dampers. We use/recommend them whenever we do a build where there is a chance the car may be tech'd and thrown out for not having it.
I just got notice that the original damper is going to be discontinued. The originals are made with aluminum bodies while the new ones will be made with steel only.
There are a limited number of these available and when the stock is gone they will be no more.
These weigh in at 2 pounds less than the new steel ones that are coming.
If you are in the market for one or will be anytime in the future I'd highly recommend jumping on it now.
The Retail price is $291, we will sell them at $XXX for EVOM members (sorry had to edit the price, some douche bag complained it was too low) So just call us and we'll give you a better price than I have listed here.
Thanks,

Really been thinking of picking one of these up... If I didn't have to deal with another engine build I wouldn't think twice about getting this RIGHT now. **** I even had to cancel the COP I had on order until everything gets sorted out.
David,
How much of a performance difference do you think the new heavier version is going to cause?

The stock pulley is made up of an innner hub that bolts to the end of the crankshaft. There is a rubber ring molded to that and then an outer ring over that. Over time the rubber becomes brittle and eventually the damper will fail and the serpentine belt will fall off when it does.
The Fluidampr is solid and filled with a thick silicone gel instead of the factory inner/outer sections seperately by rubber.
The factory damper works well BUT if you plan to do any organized drag racing it is actually illegal.

Dave:
Do you know the reason why they are changing to steel? I just actually ordered mine i hope it is aluminum?
But it would be good to know why they decided to make the move to steel?

I was more worried about the aluminum ones breaking or something and that was why. So good to know thanks!

I didn't see that other post that was made. I got our paperwork in the mail a few days ago and hadn't read it until yesterday. I also got no reason why the change was being made.
