Perrin boost control solenoid

The place I'm getting my tune prefers using the ecu to adjust boost. They reccomended I get a differnt boost solenoid.

is this the kind of thing they are talking about? http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38

They would rather use the ecu to change the boost setting over a MBC or my greddy e-01 which I think is better then using an MBC or my e-01 anyways.

LMK!
thanks!
jeff

I tried bringing this topic up in my cams thread so i wouldnt have to start a new one but I searched "perrin boost control solenoid" and "perrin boost solenoid" and got nothing and this question got lost in my other thread

I know guys in Subaru's use them and have had success. I think you would be better off just going the route of the GM 3-port solenoid as it has been shown to work well. ( Razorlab has great documentation on it as well)

Ask your tuner which boost solenoid they prefer.

Probably the GM 3port as thats what most of the guys are running.

You can find them from GM.

Check out what Razorlab has been doing. Really does great work and posts all of his findings and setting which is very helpful.

Hey I just ordered the GM 3-port boost solenoid and it was $38 shipped.

Got it from Rock Auto (http://www.rockauto.com)
GM 3 port: 12.69. AC Delco part number 214-474.
GM pigtails for 15.64. AC Delco part number PT 374.

I recomend the GM BCS which is what I have. If not that, then just the stock BCS which has been shown to work decently well for stock or near-stock cars.

I have the GM 3-port on my car. You can run much less wastegate duty cycle with it, which means you can squeeze out more boost near redline. The stock BCS cannot keep up with stock like turbos in the upper rpms. Bryan (Razorlab) has WGDC graphs documenting this in the EcuFLash forum.
