I see the same thing. Used the stock fluid til 7k miles then switched to the MOPAR fluid. Both needs to be warmed up a bit before it starts to shift smoothly.

Technically it's a part of Newbury Park (where Amgen is headquartered). But I don't work for Amgen

Oh, cool, I used to live in Augora Hills about 25 years ago!

The reason I was asking, it gets MUCH colder up here in the midwest. It just got into the 40's this week. Winter temps can dip below 0 and Id say avg temp is 15.

So, MT90 or even the mopar fluid is pretty thick at this temp.

Ill keep the Mopar fluid in mind.

Temp makes a HUGE difference. Winter time over here (20 degrees) it would shift somewhat stiff almost every time. Summer time it never does it. Also I now run Motul Gear 300 (expensive) but it shifts better.

Are we talking about different things? Cold-weather related stiffness vs. 2nd gear notchiness?

Ok. Cool. It would be interesting to see how the MOPAR fluid performed in colder weather.

Personally, even though I live in California and regardless of weather, almost every morning my 1-2 shift would grind so matter what I did (fast shifting, slow shifting, medium shifting). For me, the MOPAR fluid worked great.

I do plan on trying the mopar once it's time to change my fluid again. Can't justify wasting $60 in fluid though

I have 22K miles on my car and it's been perfect, did an MT90 fluid change at 15K. I think it's always been like this but just wanted to compare my MR experience with the rest of you.

This might be helpful.

It worked for a lot of people who had the same notchiness in shifting. I know it worked for me.

i'm with you on the mopar fluid. i am in an area where is gets f-ing cold and the mopar fluid improved every aspect of my mr tranny's shifting immediatey.

Since I am now a vendor, I am looking into getting my hands on some Castrol SynTorq LT to sell to guys in the community. Distributors have been slow to respond so far, however.

i have the same notchiness for about 20min after start up. It's only in 1-2 shift. It's also wont go in reverse sometimes when cold. I have to put it in other gears first then it goes in reverse.

i'm about to order that blox front engine mount. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Heard tons of good reviews for it. Sounds too good to be true...we'll see.

I've had this issue since day one. Really has annoyed the $hit out of me coming from an ITR, which shifted like friggin butter.

Sometimes when I go to pull it in second it feels like it's resisting. It will still go in, but it feels like it doesn't want to. After warm it's usually okay, but still get some 1-2 notchiness.

At first I thought I was not pulling the shifter into second precisely enough, but have come to realize that I'm not the problem. Ughhh

Oh and about the blox mount. You will still have the notchiness. It has been reduced, but still there. The mount is still a great mod as it reduces freeway speed bucking when getting off the throttle in boost. No more lunge forward. Still a good mod, but more than likley won't remove the notchiness.

Anyone tried metal underhood shifter bushings?
