My HTA35r with only 22 psi, with stock head, intake, tb,MAF made 450 whp.. I will tune it next time with more boost on pump I think I can make around 550 whp with 27/28 psi and on a pretty safe tune with better support mods.

Was that on pump gas?

HTA 3582
Intake manifold
Good cams
ported head
large IC
built internals
upgraded valvletrain
standalone EMS

at 24-25 psi with this setup on an Evo IX you should clear over 450 somewhere between 7000 and 8000 RPM on a built 2.0. Of course, if you're going to build your block, you could go with a 2.3, in which case 450+ should be a non-issue.

I read that the a built 2.0 has more potential power wise and drag racing wise.

you can safely rev a 2.0 higher hence making it more efficient in a straight line

for the street or road racing a 2.3 is what you want

green and meth is the best setup. might not be near 500 but would be damn fun to drive. AEM if you want max power

That is true, but really only becomes a factor if you plan on going with a really big turbo kit (think 42R). IMO anything less than that and the 2.3 is the better option. I run a built 2.0 and in hindsight a 2.3 would have been the better option ... although it is pretty badazz to be able to pull past 9000 RPM.

for what it's worth:

stock heads, stock mas, stock ecu 30psi on 93 octane pump gas only

1/8th track
1.70 60 (spinning horribly)
7.36 @ 100mph

1/4 (g-tech only thus far)
1.70 (spinning again)
11.22@130

^^Haha. If you mainly plan on running pump gas and want to daily drive it and still have a blast, i'd say go w/a 3065 or Hta 3076 w/drop in pistons, rods, and headstuds. Look what Jrod's car did when he still had it, 3065 hitting high 10's. You can't go wrong w/a Green as well.

3065's aren't very impressive until you add meth or race gas....awefuly expensive turbo kit for ~ 400awhp on 93 octane.
