Losing boost...and didnt do it before..

Ok so i had installed some aftermarket IC piping and threw together the hotside and o2 housing. For weeks the car peaked @ 23psi then held @22psi. EVEN AFTER TIGHTENING all hose clamps and vacuum lines my boost is peaking to 21psi then tapering like it did under the stock ROM to 17-18psi. Did this happen to anyone else out of the blue? Like i said all UICP and LICP hoses and clamps and line are as tight as they can be. I am in the process of making the boost leak tester that is shown on the forum but in the meantime does anyone have any pointers what may cause this? Thanks

I bet you never held 22 psi after peaking at 23. I can bet money on that if you have an MBC.
So, just up the boost so you hit 23 again. And a boost leak is a good idea on a regular basis.

You bet wrong. I sure did. Peak to 23 then held 22psi ALWAYS. I would never give false info(for what reason??!) and DO NOT have a MBC it was all done through the flash. Boost leak is gona be a done deal as soon as i make the tester.

If the leak test comes up negative, then install an MBC and turn your boost back up to 23#.

Actually you read wrong.

Anyways, maybe you should have said something about your boost control method when you asked for help with boost problems. Just a thought.

If you have changed boost pills and stock solenoid and tuned with load tables, you needed a retune after you installed things that changed the airflow.
But again, as everyone said, i don't see the point discussing potential problems until you do the leak test.

Just assumed if i didnt list a MBC on my mod list you would have known it was through the flash. Anyways, making the leak tester today and im guessing il find a leak b/c this happened out of the blue one day. No pills were changed and the mods were added months before this happened. And the leak test would be a given; i was trying to find someone who had basically the same problem...not losing ALL boost such as an ICP hose blowing off, but rather it dropping a few psi's from what it was.

Are you just slapping the new parts on your car without a tune?
once you install new parts, You have to get your car retunned. changing O2 requires retune for the boost unless you have a MBC. your WGDC is probably off the chart.

I hear ya, but that wouldnt make sense then b/c even though i have a basic flash, for months after i installed the o2 the boost was exactly the same
