i want to get cams for my 03 evo8, and i saw the gsc 272 intake/ 264 exhaust combination and didnt get whats the pros and cons of having that combination? so can anyone help plz!
plus, do i need to change the springs b4 installing the 272?

A shorter duration cam might be better suited to a pump gas stock turbo that doesn't need the extra flow, but 272 isn't very long to begin with, so I'd consider the 264 rather tame.

You don't need springs/retainers, but if you get high lift cams (11.0mm or more) you should probably consider them, especially if you want to rev to 8k on a regular basis

 

am not planing to rev as high as 8k!
and as i believe the 272 has lift 10.8 !
but y this combination? y not 268 ex/272 in ?

 

safe bet for put springs n retainer kit on cams.. so u wont blew values someday...

 

Cosworth 272's are 11.0 lift

Crowers 272's are 10.5 lift

 

i think the gsc 272 are 10.8 lift!
having a 264 cam on the exhaust wat benefits i get over a larger cams! is it done for a certain setup?
