Good work guys

I'm sooo jealous of all these crazy pump gas #'s

Wish we could get some of that 93 oct over on the West Coast.

I'm stuck making my #'s on race gas but then again i don't have any head work done so i'm sure that makes a big difference when trying to extract as much HP as possible.

Just like the questioning of my #'s when i posted them about our dyno.........maybe it would be good to post up what a stock Evo puts down on yours.

I do like the current focus on tuning for pump gas. I think there is value in finding the ragged edge as it helps us build more power in the long run. I however want to make good solid safe HP without needing to run super expensive fuel. I only get about 5mpg at the track you know... E85 is starting to look REALLY good actually.

I think David has more things in his life to worry about than Nick/DTM making good numbers. There is zero question that Buschur Racing makes crazy f'ing power and does it over an over again without scattering parts to the 4 winds and without spending huge sums of money over and over. Going to his shop is an investment in performance.

With that said numbers in numbers. Nick is putting out some good power numbers and is doing some things unlike some others at this point in time. I think there is without question reward to those who dare think about things in slightly different ways and as a result the community as a whole is better off.

So who has the record? Seems as if Al does. Big deal. Numbers are numbers and in my mind they are ok to give one an idea of a cars performance but are not always a true indication of real world performance. For that reason I am happy to see dyno numbers but they are rarely apples to apples and more likely misleading.

I also agree with David when he says if one were to really go for a record or to even have a good idea of how close one car is to another you have to remove variables.

As I was just on the dyno at DTM I could pretty easily roll up to Buschurs and see just how close my numbers are there to my numbers for Nick. At the very least it may give one a slightly better idea if how close the numbers are.

Oh, and if anyone in Ohio is ticked off... it's me as I don't care to see animosity drug out between folks I respect.

I would add the following

David Buschur was the one who first started to push the limits on pump gas at the request of his welder who is a lunatic and who actually commutes a long *** way to work each day and who needs to run pump gas and who wanted to go fast - how fast 9's was his goal

At the time I laughed

Now Buschur has realized the goal of real street driven, full weight 9 second evos - (original Bad Bish - 9.6)

The Bad Bish II - now owned by my shop (George) has run thousands of miles on pump gas at excess of 600 whp and has been undefeated thus far by any street car

The reason why I took my race Evo and ran it on pump gas was in response to my prediction that others would come along and try and claim a pump gas record of some sort

I did it on a dyno jet which can not be adjusted other than by using a standard correction factor and did it uncorrected - straight up

After I did that i took videos of it on the road and driving all around (which Evo M administration told me I cant post here as it constitutes "street racing")

The car then later went on to make 20 pulls and 1,000 whp on the dyno and the internals all look 100% perfect

On a seperate note ANY Dyno Dynamics - Mustang or Dyno Pack dyno is fully end user adjustable and the power readings can be changed with the press of a button

For example a coupld of years back Master Buschur demonstrated when he turned a 300 whp car into a 1,200 whp car making that Evo the world's most powerful Evo eva - that was funny

If you want a great tuning tool the Mustang Dyno is the best there is IMHO. However, the numbers it spits out are only as realiable as the word of the operator and most Mustang dynos have been modified to read more like dyno jets in my experience. Buschur's is the only one I trust.

Dave's response is normal. Its the same dtm goons that speak up first and then can't take critique. Then you get a bunch of other people with dtm affiliation that come on and talk about being unbiased...James

Good numbers

Sorry Al, but david was no where NEAR the first to push the limits of good ole pump fuel
As I recall, he was astonished at the fact that we had such a powerful car at the NASA nationals on plain ole pump gas (93 octane to be exact). NOW we certainly we not the first either, just clearing up the fact that pump gas was not even thought of until well past that september morning in Mid Ohio.

Buschur's is the only one I trust.

Al
But of course you do, why should anyone question that authority....

Next week when we have some time, we will hit well over the 600 mark on the Mustang and then get a DYNOJET "number" to silence the critics, that way there is no "manipulation"
Wish us luck

This thread was not started so that everyone can get riled up and run for the hills, call BS or anything of the like. But I guess because some lil' ole shop in "Virginer" had some results to post, they are untrustworthy because the location is not in Ohio.
The original purpose of the thread was to add VALIDITY to DB's past results!! Thanks for taking that and tuning into a dyno pissing match. I guess the gloves are officially off now.....

And to everyone with the positive comments, thank you and we appreciate the kind words. Our intentions were to add to the credibility of current pump gas numbers, as I personally stated in Petes thread with the DI manifold. For those who actually read my post you will understand.
Sorry for the rant, and let the flaming so that this thread can be trashed by the know it alls.
