Getting the fluids in the tranny/T-case/Diff

Ah, my first go at changing out the fluids in my tranny/T-case and rear diff. So I go to my local Auto Zone and ask for help on something to get the oil back into the tranny ect.. It's not as if ther is a oil cap that one can just pour the stuff in so I knew I needed a pump or something. The clerk shows me a gadget that you screw on a standard oil bottle, has a clear hose with a twist on and off flow control. One still has to provide a container and has to have the bottle inverted so as gravity helps feed the oil in. Mmm, ok, it's not like I have anything else to pick from.

I get home and find a bottle that will work with this 'oil tranny filler', dump in some tranny oil and proceed to fill the tranny up. All goes well except for the fact that a MR tranny does not use a standard hex bolt but rather a allen type and to get to the the fill nut I had to remove the drivers wheel and get to the splash gards so I didn't have to remove that plastic under cover that looked awfull to try and remove. It was a pain getting the oil in the tranny with this thing to say the least and when I got to the T-Case I realized it wasn't going to do at all as the fill hole was in a pretty tight spot and could not get the bottle inverted enough to do the job.

I go searching and searching for something that would work and came upon a Evacuation/Dispensing pump. It looks like a big syringe with a clear hose on it and has measurements along the side. This thing works great, I was able to just stick the hose in the original oil container and suck out what i needed (this is nice, esp when you only need a cirtain amount and takes the guess work out of 'is it full yet' then all of a suden oil comes pouring out the side of the tranny) get under the car and just put the spout in, dispense the oil with no problem as it does not matter what position the pump is in ect..

Everone talks about changing the fluids in the car but I never read anything about how/what and where without a hassle.

I found this pump at Harbor Freight Tools. Part#93477.
Hope this helps Would have helped a greenhorn like me

I use the big syringe type pump only for the tranny. For the transfercase and rear diff I found the hand pump below to be much better.
