How Much HP?????????

hello all, i have a 2005 evo 8 with 35r turbo kit, 750 inj, 255 pump, and tbe. I just got tuned w/20psi 91 oct. at dyno comp in az and put down 340whp and 280wtq. Is this low? also when i start my car, it instantly starts, but the rpms stay around 200 for 2 sec, then it comes up to normal, also when im driving it is very inconsistent and doesnt "feel" good, any ideas why? Is it possible that i have low pump psi? can i hit 400 with out engine work and on 91 pump? I think the kit was built by afi in az, i got it slightly used, would it be worth it to upgrade the turbo to a twin scroll? do i need to change the manifold for this? thanks in advance

You're getting way, way ahead of yourself. Don't buy anything until you figure out what's wrong with your car.

I would recommend a different tuner log your car and examine why it's running funny. You could have a boost leak. Your injectors or MAF may not be scaled correctly.

What brand dyno is this? 20psi is low boost for a GT35R, so if this is a Mustang or Dyno Dynamics and you don't have other supporting mods such as cams, it's not too unreasonable to assume a tame 91 octane tune at 20psi would make that much power.

Got my car tuned at Dynocomp about a year or so ago and they put me on a bad tune. Reason I know this is because shortly thereafter I started working with Vivid and Mitch was surprised I hadnt blown my motor yet! Dynocomp uses a Dynojet, and my numbers were extremely low for my mods. Cant remember exactly what they were though. Not tryin to bash Dynocomp or anything, but they just started with the Evos not too long ago, they specialize in Subarus and other cars. Been dealing with Vivid eversince, and havent let me down yet. Hope this helps

Oh and btw, to give u an idea of hp, your numbers equate to approx. 290hp/240trq on a Mustang dyno (Vivids), someone please correct me if Im wrong. Last wknd I put down 312hp/305trq at Vivid on AZ's **** gas with a hell of alot of boost taper (23.5-18.1) on my 9 turbo . You should be waaaaaayyyy higher man

First step. Check for boost leaks. Compression check if you think its necessary. You need to know that your motor is completely healthy before you drag it to another tuner.

Ive got a similar probem.. Im running GSC S1s on a 35R and the car just isnt making near the power it should. DLL is saying 380-390s HP on 23psi pump and 430HP on 30psi and 110 race fuel... My stock 9 turbo was hitting consistant 370s on the DLL on 23.5psi and pump gas... And would DLL around 420-425 on a 29psi spike and 110 fuel. And no tune isnt an issue... And I know the DLL isnt a dyno but its consistant and the car feels like a turd. Im wondering if the cams are the issue?? Anyone have any experience with the GSC S1s on a 35R car?? Leak down on my car is 3-6% and compression is even accross the board at 180 on my gauge I have here at the house. So engine checks out fine. Cam timing is on... not getting lifter taping, no smoking etc. Car is sound from everything I have checked... Im VERY puzzled at this point.

seen the same problem with a friends Evo 8, he had a stroker and a GT35R and put down some depressing numbers on 91Oct and low boost. Come to find out it was the tune and some mechanical issues that were fixed without buying new parts...got better numbers 400+ if i recall correctly. But still dont expect alot from the crap gas we use here. Just go over the car again...dont be suckered into buying mods over again

im going to be driving back to Ohio this summer to see what i would make on the 93 they use out there ( Im guessing 450 max ) ....my pump numbers are below...and thats still not a perfect tune on a mustang.

I can deffinatly say its not the tune. I myself have tuned it as well as a VERY good tuner that tunes cars on a daily basis and for a living and tunes cars that are WELL beyond what my little car is... I wont release any names etc. Im sure the car will ge figured out as it is at the right place to be... But i am just in aw... The leak down and compression test, cam timing etc is all on. The car is just a turd for some reason and doesnt pick up hardly any power goin to 30psi from 22.. VERY VERY odd.... its driving me crazy trying to think of what it could be.
