How much boost in stock form?

Just wondering how much boost can I run untuned on a ix mr with a drop in filter? I have searched and there are mixed opinions about how much is safe. I am planning on getting a tune, but for now I have a drop in filter and bought a manual boost controller and set it at 20ish with the spikes. Is this ok? Thanks in advance.

That sounds good. As long as youre not getting fuel cut or anything should be good until you get tuned.

Just turn it all the way up to 28 - 30psi. Youll be fine!

I have 20-21 PSI spikes right now, but when I install the MBC this week, I will turn the boost back down to 19 PSI. When I get tuned, I'll crank it back up. It's safe, but I like to take precautions. I'll just be patient and wait for my tune and MORE BOOST.

Doesn't the evo come extremely rich from the factory? Does the maf sensor make any adjustments for the extra air flowing through? Sorry for the noob questions, new to dsm's.
