No offense taken but I'm quite aware of that and that wasn't what I was getting at. I'm saying, what if a customer says he wants it tuned like Al's car........at the ragged edge, going for records, all the cards out on the table.

Morons everywhere..........

Yes, Al promotes us, we help him out. That's what FRIENDS and people who are suppose to be SPONSORED do. I've learned over the years there are too many guys who are the "I DID IT" crowd though and don't want to give up any credit to anyone who has helped or given them something. Al always gives props to people who help him out.

He didn't avoid the question or lie about it when asked what was the status. He thought he blew a head gasket until he got the engine apart. There's 10 other guys on here right now sitting quietly because their junk is blown up and they aren't talking about it either. If you ask them you will get a lie thrown your way.

Al has continuously used old used stuff to build his engines with. Time and time again we've re-used this old part or that old part. This last time it was a block that cracked early/mid last season. We put a sleeve in the block to try and save it. It worked for quite a while considering the dyno'ing, street driving and track and the power it is making. This type of repair will last indefinetely in a 500 whp EVO block, I guess now we know in a 1,000+ whp EVO it's not a great idea.

Al will have a NEW engine next week at the latest. I just finished it for him. We actually used some new parts in this one. Rods and crank were re-used and I very well could have re-used every single bearing but did not. This should be the last time he needs an engine for atleast this entire season.

rgeir11, I'm glad you atleast pointed out that Shepherd did run the first engine I built him for 1 entire season and actually part of the next. The only reason that engine gave up was he lost the belt drive off the fuel pump and leaned it out.

^^Umm rgeier11 get a clue. I am not a diehard Buschur fan but I can tell you right now whats a block cracking having anything to do with a Buschur product failing? Have you ever played with anything over 500whp let alone over 1000whp. Your 45 posts are hilarious just because you dont like AL. I may not agree with him all the time but you cant take away what he has accomplished. I am sure Shep, AMS, or any shop that goes for over 1000whp has ruined their fair share of engines.

Some people just dont understand. At the power level of Al's car with the Buschur engine. He is making 265.5 hp per cylinder or 8.70 hp per ci of displacement which is just crazy to think about. Put that together with a block that was hurt in the first place and i think enough is said about Buschur Engines.

At those power levels its like a ticking time bomb. You are making almost 3.8 times the power that the engine was made for which again is just amazing. I know it would cost a ton of money but i still dont understand why somebody has not created there own block casting of the 4G63?

Buschur Racing FTW! "Now Al stop breaking stuff so Dave can finish my engine...lol....

The cranks and blocks are stock in my car. I have seen a few blocks crack. Thus far I have never broke a stock crank.

I would love to see a company like DART or whomever come up with a 4G63 performance block

I have always wished the same thing, for DART to come out with 4g63 block just like they do for hondas, 5.0's, etc. I bet they would. The 2 grand would be well worth it to me especially considering the first time you put it together there would be no machine work costs to be dealt with.

Most of the parts I have been using are all used and recylced so when things break its not a big deal to me

I made 20 plus 1,000 whp dynp pulls on the car so I was very happy that the repaired block help up so well

In retrospect I will prob just throw out any blocks that crack in the future

I agree with those who say if you are not breaking parts when you are trying to break records then you are not trying hard enough

My goal with the car this year is to leave no prisioners and push it as hard as I can - period - as Buschur and others have said no excuses no BS - full race hard core

Al
yea man, this isnt ur fault or buschurs. this was just a bad block. these stock blocks can only take so much b4 they become the weakest link. and with buschur building these motors, the cast iron block is the weakest link. makes me wonder sometimes y we cant make a 100% forged block

Oh same here dude. That would be insane to see some blocks and heads about half the price of cosworths stuff!

On this board, let's say 100 people have engine failures, and a 100 people have a success at the track or dyno.... then you will hear probably all 100 success stories and maybe 5 or so of the failures. This leads to an illusion that running a 700+ hp Evo is easier than it is.
