Dual springs = smoke under load :(

Hey all.

I have dual springs, ti retainers, and seats from supertech. The vendor I got them from on evom said that was all i needed and i'm guessing the shop that put them in didn't notice there was no clearance with the OEM seals. I have smoke under load and need these I think...

Supertech Valve Seal: VS-H6.6I x 8
Supertech Valve Seal: VS-H6.6E x 8

Is anything else required to be replaced that may be damaged such as new springs, or anything else?

Cheers.

Hey. These are the correct seals that you need for the supertech duals.. How many miles on the duals with the OEM seals? I put the OEM seals in when I did my supertech duals and haven't had a problem yet.. but I bought the right supertech seals just in case.. And what color is the smoke? and is it out of the exhaust or motor? I am guessing its blueish, white smoke out of the exhaust?

yes thats what you need.. They should have been installed when they did the springs.. we just did 2 cars with supertechs and NO smoke issues..

It's a blueish coloured smoke out of the exhaust. They've been in for about 10k km. When they were first put in I noticed on start ups that there was a little bit of smoke as well, but that seemed to stop pretty quickly.

It's annoying to have the head pulled off again just to have these put in! I may as well add some head studs and give the head a bit of a clean up while it's being done.

My only concern would be if any other parts need to be replaced because they have been damaged from rubbing against the seal?

The head does not need to be pulled off to do the seals.. It can be done in a few hours on the car
