For those of you with an Exedy Twin Disc Clutch

whats up, got my exedy twin disc clutch installed about 2 weeks ago, and its got just shy of 1000 miles on it now, when i first started driving it, the clutch felt real tight, as soon as i started letting off the clutch pedal goin into first gear, i could feel it gripping the gear, but now it seems like i gotta rev a little hire and the car still feels like it wants to stall when goin into first gear and its making this high pitched squeak when im goin into first gear, anybody get the same thing or have any suggestions on what this could be???

Normal stuff. Mine started to do the exact same thing after 1000 miles. Been 4000 more and it still does it. Clutch still has a squeal intermittantly upon engagement and you need to rev it up a little more than the factory one.

I agree that it's normal. It seems like the engagement point changes after a little while also.

All Normal My friend has a twin disk in his DSM You really have to rev the motor to get them to not squal and all that. Make sure the clutch is adjusted correctly too that will help with the ingaugement problems

I have the twin disk and it makes some funny noises. No big deal though, I thought I had done something wrong when I put it in! LOL no worries as long as it still grips and goes I am happy!

Okay to add to it on my part..

I heard about the clutch chatter yet sometimes when parking or starting off ill hear the noise like putting something into a fan... If thats the chatter i guess its normal. It goes away..

Other then that i was expection a big time preasure increase from the ACT it feels the same. Iam on about 80 miles not even broken in yet. so i still have some more driving to do..

So i figured out that it was my Fender liner hitting the tire. Yet the noise inbetween shifts i guess is normal and ill get used to that.

Yea, Gary, that noise is normal. When you are driving spiritedly you dont hear it. only when shifting slow. It is the normal chatter. Mine does it too

Okay so that iam not stupid and iam sure everyone has the same question. I had some douche today telling me how much my cars is this and that (in a bad way) told me i was stupid to say the noise is the twin disc and that he had one on his FD claimed ? and it didnt sound the way mine does. The sound is what some would compare to a bad throw out bearing. And i am tired of explaining to people what a twin disc is.

Throw out bearings make noise when your not touching the clutch, once you push the clutch in the noise goes away......this is the exact opposite of clutch chatter. Easy way to explain why its not the throw out bearing.

Also, if you engagement point is higher than it used to be you should re-adjust your clutch pedal.
