Okay, so its time for me to change my plugs. I managed to foul them to the point of breaking up/missfire during hard shifting complete with bumper melting 1 foot flames. Lately I've been hearing alot about pulse plugs. For those who don't know reputable magazines are claiming 5-15 wheel hp (on N/A cars grant you) gains from changing perfectly good factory plugs to pulse plugs. The magazine I picked up had a 350Z/G35 on the dyno with 10hp gains. They are even claiming up to 2% increase in gas mileage. Both car & science/tech magazines support these plugs.
My question is, has anyone used a set of these plugs? Either on an evo or any forced induction car?
They have alot of very convincing data/tests under there belt, but I just cant seem to find anyone that actually runs a set. On a side note it would seem to me that running these plugs would probably cause a VERY slight loss in ignition timing (~<1 degree due to the capacitor charging, which would be dependent on rpm). However we would gain a longer spark event, assuming I grasp how these things actually work.

the more i read, the worse these plugs get.

it seem these $100 plugs will gain you 1hp & last a month. Probably wouldn't even make it off a dyno on a big turbo car.

I've never heard of them, thus would never try it. Been using BPR8 NGK coppers for awhile. Coppers are cheap and you won't worry about something exploding causing damage to your engine/turbo. Use something that's reputable in the community. There's plenty of good feedback and data on the NGKs.

Honestly i can see those plugs wearing out fast or even breaking the insulator on that during install.
The standard plug that we use has been a proven design that has survived though the ages...the only plugs i have seen that are more reliable are Aircraft Igniters...but no one has the money for those plugs...and ALOT more power runs though those.

My buddy put these in his RSX S. Night and Day difference in throttle response he said. He also mentioned that the car is idling alot better to..

the one they sell for the evo, as reported here is the longer version made for a IX and when the guy used them in his VIII it damaged his head.
There is one also stated in that thread that would be VIII compatible.
