Jesus.. You're driving a completely performance minded car, please don't throw a rice magnet like a loud BOV on it... This is turning into srt4forums...

if you want a louder BOV get a Forge DV. There really is no reason to change from the stock IX. I did cause I got mine for next to nothing, but still considering going back.

The ones the Supra guys are using pushing Uber amounts of boost is the HKS RACING BOV. Not the SSQV. The Supra guy using the SSQV are normally only running stock twins.

Go with an APS twin vent if you want the loud sound. Ask Mellon about it. He has it with his HTA35R and swears by it. Also like everyone says just get an open element filter and your hear your stocker just fine.

So, you had the car tuned to run VTA then? or someone before you did? because you don't just throw a vta bov on an Evo and call it a day.

Newer cars and their ecu's don't enjoy you fiddling with their settings

I never go it tune, and it runs great, I even took it to the track for my first time and I run low 13s with just a K&N drop in and a RRE turbo back exhaust.

I bet those AFRs are pig rich between the shifts. Those mods are high 12s worthy with a <1.8 60'. Yeah sure the car may run fine, but it isn't running it's BEST. A VTA BOV is not ideal for a MAF equipped vehicle.

Right idea - wrong intake. At least the filter part:

+100000 on the IX DV

Even the stock BOV VTA isnt very loud. I use a SSQV VTA on my IX. I did a pressure test on it, no leaks. The car doesn't stutter or stall. My first evo 8 with the Turbo XS RFL stuttered some but never stalled. I think recirc'ing the SSQV with a good intake (I use Apexi), it would still be pretty loud.
