GT30r OR GT35r
+1 spools like a 30r builds more power than a 37 at times. besides the 30r is such a middle of the road turbo. people make same amounts of power and run lower times on the stock turbo with excessive tuning. plus, you dont want to buy a turbo kit twice
Go 35r if you want to take down the v8s. The additional lag the 35r has over the 3076 is negligible, to me at least, and the benefits up top outweigh the extra few hundred rpms of spool time. Add that with meth and you're set.
The GT3076R or turbos sized similarly from various turbo manufacturers is what I feel to be the best overall combination of spool, response and top end for a street EVO with a 2.0L motor. If you have any questions about the turbo options, as there are MANY, feel free to get in touch with me to discuss!

As for the OP, a 30R is more than enough, but like others have said you might be better off with an FPgreen.
i might be selling my gt30r... not as a kit cuz i just want to go bigger to a 35r, but if you just want the turbo, mine is in excellent shape, its the 3076 with the .63 a/r
if i dont sell it, then i might just do a bigger exhaust side. i think my boyfriend said they make like an 82 or 86 which should put me into the 500awhp mark with 280cams

That's the answer right there why I feel you should go with either a 3076 or 3065 turbo. Either turbo with meth on a safe conservative tune will give you plenty to tear it up. I was in the same boat, I was going to go ahead and get an HTA35R but without a stand alone, worked head, ported IM/TB, built bottom end, and revving to 8500...the turbo wouldn't be able to flex it's muscle. IMO the 3065/3076 would be plenty for a bone stock motor to last the 20k+ miles you're looking for.
cool this threads helps a lot. another sort of same question. I plan on buying a shep tranny and t-case to help also...is it worth building the motor even if i'm not planning on anything more than 500hp? i'm afraid i'll beat on it a little too much still and blow something but at the same time don't know if it's worth spending another 5k at least to build the bottom end up too....
