NO engine we build uses balance shafts, ever.
When we dyno the car on Friday on race gas the maximum RPM will be determined then. The problem with RPM and boost is the more you want of each the sooner everything wears out. Having thoughts of a 600 whp EVO that you run at 10,000 rpm everyday sure sounds cool, in reality it is an expensive dream.
I layed Tim G's dyno graph over Jeff's. I was absolutely 100% shocked at what I found. There really isn't a lot of difference in the curve. I then layed Eric N's dyno graph over them and found the same to be true. Eric's car had the best mid range but not a big difference. The curve's are suprisingly "close".
My mind is freaking out on me right now over this chart I am going to post. Here are some specifics on both turbos for boost response:
HTA35r HTA88
10 psi 4234 rpm 4547 rpm
15 psi 4473 rpm 4820 rpm
20 psi 4680 rpm 5039 rpm
25 psi 4852 rpm 5273 rpm
28 psi 5023 rpm 5379 rpm
It's amazing what a difference that extra 300-400 rpm in spool up make in the feel of the car on the dyno. To be honest, I thought this turbo was an absolute turd by what it felt like on the dyno. Now that I have compared the two charts I have to re-think that. It's really not far off from the HTA35r.
This car should easily trap over 135 mph on pump gas.
Here's the two sheets for comparison:

Am I missing something? How is Buschur tuning to 30psi on straight 93pump all of the sudden? No Meth right? Pulling some timing? I don't know crap about tuning so I'm baffled here.
