for quick results, read the terrorist version of the kuran (sp?), strap a bottle of bleach to your head, and run screaming into the serivce area.

hehe....just bored!

How loud was the whine? Did you have a chance to check the fluid yourself?

the whine is on par with alot of the death whine clips on the board.

Although, I've only recenlty got it probably within 50 or less miles since the visit to the dealer.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to check the fluids before I brought it back.

I tried to mention to the dealer that I suspect its their fault of the fluids but they of course just denied that. THey said the fluids were "perfect"

Also, how long can I drive like this? I mean I'm going to drive it alot either way but I read that people drive around like this for a year?

I also read if you keep driving your car will just stop moving?

I recall that the person who recorded the death whine video drove like that for a year. Although I have heard that the TC siezes when it fails. Make sure your insurance will pay to tow your car when it fails.

Everyones notion of sound is a bit different which is why I got sick of just hearing it and uploaded my own videos. If you search death whine im sure my videos will come up.

Your really asking yourself everyday if you feel lucky today once it starts whining.

just out of curiosity, what causes the T-case to fail?

Besides wrong fluid, not enough fluid what else?

I ask b/c I barely drove the car after the 30k maintenance service, and I have been driving the same way for over over 2 years with my mods and the cars alwasy ran great.

Now all of a sudden the T-case just breaks? literally less then 50miles after the 30k service?

Is this coincidence ? or is it likely the dealer can mess up a 30k service? Supposingly, they have a tech there that works on evos all the time.

OP, more than likely they put transmission fluid in your t-case.

I had that happen to me at a local shop and he called the dealership and they said it shouldn't be an issue. Then my shop talked to shepard racing and found out that transmission fuild in a t-case will kill it very quickly (mine in less than 2 weeks).

What I would do is get a sample of the fuild in the t-case and send it off to get tested. If it is transmission fluid then the stealership that did your maintanence should have to replace your t-case.

But g/l cause you will have a fight on your hands.

id contact shep or TRE just get a built tcase from them or search in the for sale section on these boards. You can normally find some and they for sure wont cost you 4,000 dollars probably a grand for a used one.
