yea when i had my tcase, i went to car-parts.com and searched for my tcase. I found a junk yard in alabama which had a totalled evo, got the case for 1400, not bad compared to the 3700 that the shop wanted from me. I got the tcase myself, which came with 6 month warrenty/ unlimited mile warrenty ,but paid shop to do it. long run it cost me about 2000 to do it. which sucked big hairy monkey nutz but it was better than 4grand or more. But in ur case, it sounds like someone, like the dealership F*cked up. Get fluid tested. Also, find out how long fluid has been in there. You gota fight for this one

Warranty or not, they obviously caused the damage by incorrectly servicing your vehicle.

If it was a 20 year old Buick and a mechanic made the same mistake, he would still be responsible. That is why shops have insurance policies.

Be very adamant about the fact that THEY caused the damage when they serviced your car (for a rip off price, BTW)

This is not a warranty problem.

I had the same issue with my T/C and as soon as I told them I was getting a lawer they said that they were able to fix it under warrenty. DON"T BACK DOWN ON THEM!! It was their fault, just make sure for now on when you get a service check all your fluids before you leave.

appreciate all the input so far.

How do I actually go about testing this fluid for how long its been in there or what type?

I have never tested any fluids if anyone can point me in the right direction?

I am not sure if the can he showed me said LSD gear oil or not.

I just know it was like a yellow can with Diaqueen on it.

He asked the guy at the parts counter to give him" evo transmission oil" and thats what he pulled out.

I am willing to fight this but I really need more evidence to bring to court.

If the can didn't look like this, it was the wrong diaqueen.
