just put in a new transfer case(well used ) that i purchased from here from a guy who swears its a good tcase. Ok i hear whining after 3thd in 1st and 2nd no sound 3thd 4th 5th a whining louder as u accelerate but stops after your accelerated. I need to know what it could be so i can fix this . Is the tcase bad? or what else could it be ... also drained the fluid again and again after driving little by little and there is a little bit of metal shavings in the tcase fluid let me know . ty

 

so it starts just in 3rd?

 

right in third. my dad has it now he got on it he says it feels fine. but it starts in third . I drove it didnt get on it though just to see what he meant when i went and visited . and it starts in third.

 

Its a bad TC, end of story. Mine did the same thing. I drove mine like that for 25k with no issues before i replaced it but i don't recommend it

 

well the person i bought it from SWEARS its not the transfer case blah blah blah just annoying no one can be honest then he has the nerve to tell me! that how do i know your not broke and just trying to switch my part for his.. it pissed me off... but ya he keeps going on about the driveshaft anyone want to chime in .

 

i have a whine in 1st 2nd and 3rd and then it goes away. if you youtube evo tcase whine, you can hear that if it is in the higher gears you know your are in trouble

 

so.. so far its the tcase is bad(which i think it is also) no one else have any ideas ? something they have experianced or may of heard before i buy another tcase and send him back his junk?
