Start up precautions after long down time?

The IX has been sitting for almost 4 mo now and I'm wondering if there is anything to consider before starting her up. I know there couldn't be much to actually do about it but wanted to ask here just in case I'm overlooking some concern.

I would change the oil if its me before I start it. Esp if the oil you left there for 4 months was used over 2k miles.

If you really wanted to be **** you could pull the spark plugs, pour a teaspoon or so of oil in each cylinder, unplug your fuel pump and crank the engine several rotations using the battery to slowly lubricate the pistons/rings/cylinder walls and get the oil pumping a little. This approach is much more gentle than starting the car and having it go to fast idle (~2000rpm) instantly.

Then reconnect your fuel pump, reinstall plugs and fire her up. Any remaining oil will burn off almost instantly and you'll be good to go.

A lot depends on where the car was stored and what the humidity and temperature levels were...YMMV

It's been in my garage with temps staying pretty constant (60-80°) although with a period of high humidity durring the rain this winter.

Watch your oil pressure light when you do end up starting it. Make sure it turns off a few seconds after start up. Dry evo oil pumps have a very hard time geting primed.
