04 below VIII has a 9.8 hotside and 05 has a 10.5 hotside. Did you check for boost leak and such? How many car length did pull away from you?

Obviously you bought it used and modded. Does it have a boost gauge? How much boost are you running? I would do a compression test, change the plugs and do a boost leak test. That will tell you alot about the car.

More than likely the previous owner had a boost controller on the car and when he put the car back to "stock" he didn't reinstall the boost lines properly. I guarantee you're just running on wastegate boost of 12lbs or so. Double check that the lines are on correctly to the boost celenoid with the pills in the boost lines facing the same way.

Had the same issue when I bought my car, I knew something was up when i almost lost to my buddy's Spec-V

take the exhaust off and then take it to the dealer. They might void the warranty for it. They did that to my last one.
