Fixed my Lockout problem with my ACT HDSS
I had some problems with what people would call "Lock out" this is when your car wont go into gear. This typically happens in a high RPM situation...over 7000 RPMS. I had my clutch pedal adjusted out pretty high. I didnt want to adjust it out too far in fear of "Preloading" the pressure plate, witch would cause the clutch to not fully engage possibly causing slip under WOT. However, I was having some "Lock out" when I would get over 7000 RPMS on the 1-2 shift. It is pointless to go over 7K on the stock turbo and cams, but sometimes crap happens. The only time I go over 7K on purpose is in 4th gear ragging it out for a 1/4 mile pass instead of going onto 5th. Anyway, I decided to adjust out the clutch pedal a little further (higher) and see what happens. I went for a ride and could tell right off the bat the car was shifting easier (the car was cold). After a few miles when I got everything warmed up I went for a rip....took the car to 7800 in first and it shifted like butter right into second....took it to 7600 in second and 7600 in 3rd...the darn thing shifts so freaking good I could not believe it. I am 100% more happy with this car now…time to go racing! I had missed 2nd a few times…due to my clutch being adjusted incorrectly. I have been driving/racing stick cars for over 10 years….Im a pretty good driver….and this was annoying the heck out of me…Im satisfied now! I love the ACT HDSS with my Xact Prolite Flywheel. So if your having problems give your clutch pedal a good adjustment.
