downpipe boost spike

downpipe boost spike

I have a 05 evo with intake,catback, and now downpipe. after the install it started to spike to 22 psi and hit boost cut. even after reflashing boost cut to 319 im still having the same problem. what do i do to fix this. thanx

What intake is it? It must be really throwing off your MAF readings to hit over 319 load with 22psi.

trying doing a boost leak test. when i up'd the psi on mine after 21 to 22 psi i would have the same problem u had. i thought it was in need of a tune but when it was on the dyno for tuning the problem still occurred. come to find out one of the couplers on the intercooler piping was leaking. we replaced the coupler and no more problem.

i have a wideband but its not installed yet. i jus have the intake cone and adapter from AMS. i tried the link that Testudo sent me about scaling MAF, but the pics of the values didnt come up. ima try the boost leak test but i dont knoe how that effects boost cut?

i dont know how or even saying a leak is causing it im just saying i was having a similar problem as u and it turned out to be a boost leak. imo its worth the few minutes to check just to be sure.

tried boost leak test and its fine. does anyone have the pics from the MAF scaling form. for some reason their gone
