Spiking

Well the car i am about to purchase is doing a bit of spiking. We turned the boost controller down now it only spikes to 25-27 holds 21-23. After I get out of the car and pop the hood i hear a hissing sound. After checking it appears the vacum line going to the bov was leaking. Would this be the cause of the high spikes?

I don't think so - that vacuum line controls when the BOV opens. So if it's leaking the engine might surge or stutter from the compressor wheel stalling, but you shouldn't see any spikes in boost.

He has the T where the stock hardline goes to the intake manifold back down to somewhere either turbo outlet or wastegate.
