Not to get this off track but I want to say something.

The import industry has been a roller coaster ride for me. It started out as a hobby that I was freaking obsessed with. It turned into a business much larger than I ever expected it to. It then got so competitive (I am talking in the '90's at this point) that it got very ugly. The ugly part is kind of how it is now between myself and some other shops. In that time though from 1989 to the late 1990's I had some close friends and we use to race all over the place, Englishtown, Norwalk, Atco, Oklahoma etc. Most of those friendships were lost for whatever reasons, business, comments made whatever. It then all turned into nothing but business for me. I learned that the guys I thought were friends we people who wanted or needed something from me. When they became "smarter" than I was or moved onto a different car they were all up and gone.

I am once again, for some reason, feeling like I am enjoying a hobby again. It is directly related to me testing parts and constantly being in a developmental stage. It is what I love to do, I thought about my RS today and I am truly happier working on it and constantly trying to make it better/more power than I am getting it out to race it.

I find myself now being surrounded by guys that make me feel like I am more than the guy who is building their car. I feel like there is a group of friends growing here that are going to hopefully last for many years to come.

I have to thank you guys because I am having an absolute freaking blast and you guys don't make me feel like I "should" be there because you paid me to do something but like I am there just to hang out. It's good freaking times.

My grass can wait

Your car could be on fire and they would let it pass at 42. It may be a redneck track but I love the place. I am there at least once a week!

Toby (the owner of 42) is a great guy!

Dave, The most important part is to enjoy what you do. Having a satisfied customer is like adding icing on the cake.

Dave:

Im glad you made that post. You will find allot of people that are out there just to use you for what you do or have. Once that is gone you normally find out who is your true friends as you know.

I think that between you and Jim the whole community is going to see a big change for the better. The time and effort that you guys have put into production and testing is just amazing and like most have already said we thank you for everything!

BTW I don't think your grass can wait i think i need to trailer my car down there and leave it at your shop while i landscape your house for you. Deal??

P.S. - Before i really knew Dave i heard allot of things not for the better. It really put a bad taste in my mouth for no real reason i didnt know the guy and i was judging him. After getting screwed by the same people that talked bad about Dave to me and things got bad for my situation guess who the only one was to reach out to me to help...Dave... I cant thank him enough for everything that he has done for me and everything that we are going to do together in the future. Everything posted above it true. You can tell just by how he talks to you that everything he does has apart of him in it. He makes you feel like you situation is the most important to him at that time! Now BR gets all my business and all my referrals that will never change! Okay enough of the sob story let go makes some more power now!

Thanks 2k4EVOVIII, I appreciate the kind words. It is very funny because a bunch of guys I have "fought" with on here in the last 6 months or so have now become customers for whatever reason.

My passion for this makes me a guy who will fight for it in a minute. I think there is a difference between doing something for the money and doing something because it's what you love to do. (minus the *******s you have to put up with that make you want to quit)

I don't come home from work and stay on here until midnight because I am getting paid, I do it because it is a "hang out" for me. It's what I like to talk about it's what I like to do. I don't go to the track with customers/friends because they pay me or it was part of the "contract" when we built the car, I do it because I want the cars to run as fast as possible and make sure everything is dead on.

I can't tell you how many cars I've had come through our shop for a dyno tune or been there at the shootout for the dyno competition and they ran like crap and had HP curves that looked like dirt piles, low on both ends and choppy in the middle.

My name is on the door of this place and this is all I can do, to stupid to do anything else! The cart pusher at WalMart has more training than I do.

BTW, JordanS4, I do greatly appreciate the comment you put up. You are absolutely correct, we can all argue about who's dyno is right, wrong, low or high but at the end of the day it's the track times that matter. After that anybody can figure out the rest. Thanks for the comment.

^ exactly. dyno numbers, blah, blah. When we see dyno numbers backed up by track numbers that is when we know who is doing things right. I've seen other shops claim dyno records but never back them up with track numbers. When they do, they usually embarass themselves or back it up with an excuse. Buschurs experience is incredible. He not only builds ONE reliable, fast car. He Builds hundreds of them. Theres a reason we see so many of these threads pop up from Buschur and not other shops. This video is a perfect example of why me and many other evo owners are saving our pennies to get our car to become transformed into a reliable Buschur Powered Monster !

David, you are 100% correct! Back when Eric and I were spending night after night in the garage working on my STI, we sat there and talked about how we had more fun working on the car than racing it.

Unfortunately, it got to a point where it was more of a hassle than a hobby and that's when it no longer became fun for me. Flat out..last summer sucked because my car was down most of the summer and when it was running, it always had some issue that needed attention.

With the jump over to the Evo and having you build me a monster, it is no longer considered work....its a hobby again and damn is it fun!

You're a great guy and a great friend! Even before I spent a dime with Buschur Racing, you were my friend and I appreciated that as I knew you weren't kissing *** to try and get business. Now that I do own an Evo, its a great feeling to give you my business as I know you will do everything you can to help me go as fast as possible.

As for coming to the track Sunday...we all appreciate it....not only from a customer standpoint, but a friend standpoint. Like I said in my first post in the other thread, we are glad to show what the average customer can do with your setup. There are definately no other shops out there with customers like us putting up respectable track times to back up their dyno numbers.

SO BRING IT!

David, the earlier thread talking about a fire, well......I know you have many friends in this thread and I just want you to know....If your car caught fire, there would be many of us standing in a circling p!ssing on it, just to put the fire out. We're there for you.
