Arrow Autronic for EVO VII

Had anybody installed the Autronic CPU on the VII??
What exactly I must replace for maximum and safe performance?
I have already fitted Ralliart Intercooler piping kit, Ralliart air suction kit, Ralliart water hoses, ARP conrods, HKS hyper muffler, Ralliart Sports Air filter, HKS SSQV, Ralliart thermostat, Ralliart Spark Plug cable set and Ralliart turbo valve. I also will change the fuel pump with a bigger one and change the normal pipes with aeroquip ones.

I had a TME with the Autronic fitted on it without changing the turbo (titanium) and I must say that the car was extremely fast (1.45 bar). Changing from 4th to 5th gear (at about 200km) the feeling was just like changing from 1st to 2nd. The car was tuned for maximum performance. I am comfused because the TME was burned and I don't know the reason why? Was it because the Autronic? Was it because the Ralliart CPU fitted in the beginning and caused extremely high temperatures in the exhaust manifold - and this probably harmed the engine? Please help me...

its hard to know what happened but the most likely scenario if it caught fire is that a fuel line failed

the ecu can manage the fuel system in the following ways:
pump off (motor not running)
pump on low power (cruising)
pump on high power (starting, driving hard)
fuel pressure relay solinoid (starting)
injectors

some support the correct factory operation and will stop the pump if the engine stops with the ignition on

others may simply run it at high power any time the ignition is on
and throw fuel on any fire

Unhappy Evo on fire

Well what you say about the fuel lines makes sense. In fact the octane booster I was using, probably harmed the fuel lines. BUT: For a fire to start you must have some kind of spark or flame combined with fuel or oil leak. The fuel lines, were probably leaking... So, how did the fire begin? After checking the debris, I discovered that the turbo, the oil filter, half the intercooler and the exhaust manifold were unharmed (and everything at the right side of the car). The fire seems to have started from the intake and I am wondering where did the spark come from... The upper part of the engine meaning valves, cams and spurk plugs have melted. The car was totally burned except the rear spoiler.
At the same time that I heard a small explosion and saw a burning object (I don't know what it was) coming out from inside the engine compartment, the engine stopped working. I was travelling at 90mph when this happened and the turbo was not working (no throttle).

PS. When this happened, I had the Autronic fitted for 5 days. This is obviously the mechanicers fault, but I dont know how to prove it.

Danny,
You don't need a spark or flame to cause ignition of petrol all you need is a suitably hot surface and it will ignite. This could come from lots of sources within the engine bay e.g. exhaust manifold. Have you felt how hot it gets under there??

Evo's death

Of course I know how hot is in there!!! The exhaust manifold after 10-20 minutes of working was completely red. But The exhaust manifold is in the front of the engine, and it is unhurmed. The fire seems to have started from the rear side of the engine where the intake is. Was the intake so hot to become red?

In other words was the Autronic responsible for what happened? Or it was just bud luck...

Danny,
The cylinder head also gets very hot and what may have happened is that one of the fuel lines has split near to the injectors and you have ended up squirting fuel onto the hot engine head and block and this has ignited.

I wouldn't have thought that a change of ECU would have caused a fire and therefore I would have assumed it was bad luck but you can never rule anything out.

So, what am I suposed to do now with the VII? Fit the Autronic with a bigger fuel pump and change the fuel lines with aeroquip ones (to avoid any accident)?
I have two suggestions: 1. Ralliart CPU and 2. Autronic CPU with ALS(anti lag) and 2 settings for the boost (0.7 and 1,48 bar). MoTec is for the moment very difficult to programmed here in Greece.

An other thing to do, is to remain normal. But I don't think so...
What do you suggest?
