swaping out stock boost gauge

swaping out stock boost gauge

is there a boost gauge that reads in psi that i can swap in place of my stock gauge that reads in bars? i want to still use the 3 pod stock location just want to swap a psi gauge in place anyone do this to theres? will i be able to find a gauge that uses the same electrical plug/harness for the stock gauge and plug it right in the aftermarket one or does mits sell psi gauge i'm going to say probably not just wanted to ask cause i dont know to much about wiring up gauges, swaping the boost lines easy its just the wiring i'm iffy about! well how hard is it to wire up a boost gauge using stock location.

you should have searched...

the only gauge that is remotely close to fitting in the stock panel is an Omori (sp?)

they make a 45mm gauge that you can simply dremel the panel out a little bit and make it fit

wiring you'll have to splice nothing will have the same connections

it's just a ground (black), a power (white), and a dimmer if you want to be capable of dimming them like the factory cluster

actually I believe the gauge I mentioned has connections that enable you to change the color or something

VDO ones look stock, but I think they're closer to 52MM than the stock size. Personally, I'd just get a steering column mounted boost gauge. Easier to read while driving IMO.

they sell stewart warner gauges

I have them in my car and they are inexpensive and high quality

simple gauges...no bells and whistles

Yeah Stewart Warner are top notch.

Defi are good, but electronic and expensive. Autometer (what I have) are okay. Mechanical and cheap. They get the job done, but can be inaccurate.

ok i want to buy the stewart waner its $60 for the gauge but i dont know witch one to get! i'm guessing i should get the 40psi instead of the 25psi "same price" but it says there 30" gauges so if i wanted to get the steering mount how do i know witch str mount to get? thanks guys

will this gauge swap right in place of the stock 3 pod boost gauge? it doesnt say what size it is!? stock gauges are 45mm? whats size is the stewart waner?

chaotichoax where do you have your gauges, in the stock location?
