So far it looks like they are "predicting" rain for Sunday night and all day monday. Lets hope it doesn't get there sooner! Be sure to get brand new wipers for the ride home fellas. Trust me, it sucks to drive that far on crappy wiper blades.

We leave from Massachusetts around 7 or 8am on Friday. Here is where we start from: so you can get an idea how long it will take us to pass your area. If you give me a REALLLY obvious landmark to look for about 10 minutes from you, I can text you when we pass it. We have had people just sit in the breakdown lane a few minutes before we pass and then join the group. Looks like our caravan is gonna be the smallest its ever been this year from the NewEnglandDSM crowd One more person won't hurt, lol.

Who goes to the shootout on Sunday?? You miss the best parts.

How many people have gone in the past? The list on saw on newengdsm wasn't that bad I thought

I can't wait, sucks that I'll be in a Honda Pilot and not my dsm but either way it'll be a blast.

We've had up to 40 people and 30 cars before, this year looks weak in comparison. I may not be traveling with the main caravan either. I can't deal with all the 4 wheelers constantly cutting in front of me when I'm truckin along with 6 tons of steel up my ***. I also want to try to spend less than 500 bucks on diesel. Going 75-80 the whole way with an enclosed trailer doesn't help me achieve that goal. But in general it is wise to go with the caravan. With all of the collective tools, parts, and knowledge, you're much better off if something happens on the way out. Plus it's much less boring. The trip out there and back becomes a big part of the SO Experience.

Yeah, like the Shootout for example. It's a 12 hour drive out there, and you need to be there at ~9am on Sunday.

Its not all that bad seriously. I did it numerous times. It just forces you to drive with some more sense and pay closer attention.
