Is this going to be an event for all of the high HP cars or are you planning on letting some of us noob/ little guys run too. I don't have a lot of HP and only about a years worth of track time but I would love to come up and play. Anyone in STL that needs a ride is welcome if I end up going. This would be a great community builder, nice chance for people who live in different areas to meet in person. Keep this thread going...and going....and going

The shootout has gone on for years. People come from all over the country and world.

Everyone is welcome to come and anything Mitsu powered can race.

I have a few ideas

#1 - a 100% pump gas class - everyone has to show up empty and will get 5 gallons of pump gas to race for the day and a sealed gas tank door

#2 - Limit the Q16 class to gasoline only cars or at least running gasoline with meth injection as a aide - NOT 100% alcohol or nitro methane powered cars - I personally could give a rats *** about alcohol burning cars

Just so you know

They already have an Evo Eliminator class that requires a DOT tire, full interior and full exhuast

i have been in the final of the Evo eliminator every year expet last year when it was rained out and postoned and won it one time

Its funny I was remembering back in 2003 and 2004 when Martin of AMS was tuning and driving his own Evo when I would race against him in the E E class. Back in those days Buschur was the king of the prom with his Conquest mowing down everyone else. No one else came close.

David at the time felt that the Evo was a road car and he resisted the urge to turn it into a drag car. I can remember trying to encourage him to get more serious about the drag scene back in 2004.

The best year was year one for the E E when I had a Gt30 on my car already after it had been out only a few months and was making 450 whp and wound up loosing in the final to a Buschur customer who had just installed BR Stage II and a SFAC and it was his first drag event (after I bogged the launch). Watching the newbie beat up on myself and AMS at the time was very satisfying and is what makes the Shootout one of the best races anywhere.

I remember my ride out to Ohio back in 2003 before I met David and my thoughts at the time and my thoughts after the race. When you come there you will have the time of your life.

For those who have not made the pilgramige to Ohio you really owe it to yourself to come at least one time in your life time.
