I'm going with Buschur!!!

I've been searching and searching for a worthy tuner so I can start modded my car and I found Buschur to be the most honest and fair priced out of them all. Sure they haven't been in magazines or shootouts, but thats because they haven't been invited and if they were I'd love to see the results.

I called buschur yesterday because their stage 2 package was right up my ally. 343.2whp for 2360 shipped to NJ can't be beat. With the exedy twin disk the total rings to 3860 shipped . This is proven performance people, they run on pump gas without N02 and produce results, this is what I was looking for. Jared helped me on the phone and was very useful in terms of providing options and feedback on their and others products (thanks).

I've got one question for buschur though. Can I order their exhaust system and get a different muffler or can I order the exhaust without it? I only asking because Jared did inform me that their exhaust does slightly drone (thanks for the honesty)and I dont want that AT ALL. Do you guys (or buschur) know of or offer a quieter exhaust without the drone? I would appeciate any feedback cause I wanna get my order placed ASAP.

Hey whats up man. Yes I am the one that talked to you yesterday on the phone here at the shop.Your Welcome I was just doing my job, and keeping customers informed and answering questions. I don't remember saying anything about it droning. I remember telling you that I love the way it sounds and it is just an all around great sounding exhaust. It is rather quiet at 60 MPH. I would personally not change the muffler I know you would be happy with it. It was custom made for the car and it's gonna be really hard to find another muffler thats gonna look that good and fit under there the way it does. BUT if you did want to order just the pipe i could knock $120 off the price I gave you yesterday. We have sold around 100 or more of these exhausts and no one has complained about not liking how it sounds or about anything that had to do with that or any of our other evo parts. You are making the right choice by chosing Buschur Racing for all of your EVO parts. and there is MORE to come!!!! Have a good one! And I am looking forward to talking to you again.

OK thanks for the clarification. I thought you said at highway speeds it made a baaaa sound with the 3' piping. I figured that was droning but I guess I was wrong. Sorry for any misinformation I gave out.

Does anyone have the buschur exhaust that can give me some feedback on it. Its the only peice that I'm not sure about and if I'm gonna shell out 2200 for stage 2 I wanna be sure. Thanks in advance.

Good choice bro. I went with Buschur day one I got my car. These guys have been around DSM and the 4G63 engine for years and know jus twhat to do with it. I live in Columbus Ohio so whenever I order my parts I get them in a day. These guys kickass man. These guys were nice enough to hook me up with the S-AFC setings when I didn't even buy the unit from them. They said since I got some other stuff from them in the past they would hook me up. Customer service all the way.

I have their 3" trubo back with test pipe using their clamps (sweet clamps btw) - and let me say it sounds mean as hell! Muffler is not soft and fluffy like the other larger canisters, it's tuff. And small, fits under the bumper well enough to where you can't realy see it. Yet some people like the huge can-look in the rear, I don't.

I also have their intake. Makes a great sound WOT, combined with the 3" turbo back delivers a noticeable gain. With my EBC and S-AFC and intake it's way noticeable.

Keep up the great work guys. I'll be calling in a week when I get back from Denver to order the upper I/C pipe, miny battery and MAF pipe (if the maf pipe is ready). I may also need some advice on S-AFC settings once I add some more stuff. Running real rich right now.

Mod list:
Buschur 3" turbo back w/ test pipe
Buschur intake
S-AFC w/ Buschur settings
Profec B spec BC - set at 21psi

adding:
Buschur upper I/C pipe
MAF pipe
Grounding kit

Any sggestions for mods please feel free to advise.

I have the 3" turbo back and I ran it for 2 weeks with the test pipe. With the test pipe the car sounds like a race car under WOT. On the highway it was no problem at all. I then added the high flow CAT (wanted to be legal) and the sound was reduced greatly almost too much. All in all I have been happy with it.

BR is not simply a "tuner" shop. David knows that motor inside and out and his staff is damn good, too. Chris helped me out with all of my parts from them so far. I would have bought more at the time, but I am in the process of moving right now, so I could only order a little bit of stuff from them. Bone stock the car ran strong. With just the compressor intake pipe and the conical air filter, it was even better. The thing picked up a lot on the low end. it didn't seem to really do anything to the top end, but low end torque seemed to shoot up. I also noticed that boost comes on quicker now, which supprises me because I have no port work or wider exhaust. Maybe this is a spinoff from the ease of breathing at lower engine speeds, who knows. Anyway about it, the car pulls like a ***** right now. I plan on going to BR for all of my mods for now. I want to keep the car looking bone stock from the outside, and this includes the stock muffler. I would like to get the 3 inch exhaust with a high-flow cat and have it grafted to the stock muffler. Why? Sleeper. My ultimately is to get around 325 at the wheels while looking completely bone stock on the outside. Once I get there, I will open it up more with probably the BR muffler and lots of other goodies (like the FMIC they are releasing and the high flow exhaust manifold that is comming). BR is a shop that has been around for a while and has been tuning the various 4G63 engines for a while now. They know what they are doing and they are all very honest. I would recommend them to any Evo/Lancer/DSM/WRX/3KGT/GVR4 owner out there. They know what the hell they are doing. I am totally impressed on what kind of power they made off the stock internals (all stock internals, including turbo/camshafts/injectors). Just imagine what they will be doing once they upgrade turbos. I have a feeling that we will be seeing some 500-600 WHP come out of BR with only about $6,000 worth of mods on them.

I have a lot of RMR stuff, but the intercooler sounds interesting. Also, what is the stage 2 comprised of to make 343 at the wheels?

Question for Jrod

Jrod,

I had a couple of questions. I am gonna start throwing some money into the Evo soon but a pal of mine who is heavily into the track scene (not the 1/4 mile one) told me that I should expect the turbo seals, stretch bolts, and head gasket to go, around 120K mile. He said that with all turbo cars, it's not a matter of if, just when. Is this true? If so wouldn't modding the Evo accelerate this? The other question I had is: would you say that your safc set up would be more reliable than the Xede/reflash? I know that you guys probably would make more power with $1000 worth of mods compared to the Xede/reflash route but it is more reliable? I heard that the Xede has an additional knock sensor?

Thanks,

Bobby

Does your Buschur set-up with the test pipe generate the CEL?

Aww!!! Now why couldn't I do that with the Lancer catback? I called you guys up and I was told you wouldn't sell just the catback piping. Of course, I understand the favor being done with a customer having spent that amount of money, but man! I would've had my HKS catback done by now!
