Benefits of IC hardpiping?
Most of the ones made are 3" instead of 2.5" and have fewer bends (resulting in better and quicker flow. Your stock piping has rubber flex sections that expand and contract with boost (not good) because it gives you spikes in your boost. A great upgrade ! I would explain more but I have to leave like right now !
The main reason I hardpiped my intercooler was just to maintain steady flow through the system. Currenty, my entire airflow travels through hard piping (intake pipe, downpipe, I/C pipe, exhaust). All the other issues are important, too. The hardpipe I have is 2.5" - I don't think it makes a difference with 3" like the exhaust does and it fits the stock ends.
