Hello, I just got a used EVO 8. This car absolutely rocks! I still dont know what to do with it though. I had an RX-7 and I could do many things to make it faster for free. What can I do to this thing to make it faster? It seems that an intake wont do it. Do I buy vishnu's xede? A cat back? I just want to do something to this thing!
damn, there is already used evos out there?? how much did you pay for yours?? how many miles did it have on it, did the guy let you in on why he was selling it?? I would sit tight for a lil' while longer and let the R&D continue, eventually companies will start putting out stages which will be much easier to deal with.
Ok, I work at a dealer this guy wanted a different car so he traded his EVO in . When I saw it, I had to have it, it had 6200 miles on it and I got a great deal on it. Can I get a gauge pod for my boost gauge? Where can I get one?

For free mods, honestly, nothing beats weight reduction. It is simple physics really – less mass to move = greater performance all things being equal (grip, power, etc.)
Weight reduction is the one method of modding a car that helps all aspects of performance: cornering, braking and acceleration, and if done right, can be 100% reversible.
Look to drop weight above the beltline and at the polar ends of the car as far as static weight goes. However, for the real significant benefits, concentrate on rotating and unsprung mass.
As far as tuner parts go, we offer a very nice array of performance items to take your Evo to the next level.
Have fun!

What is that old formula? Like X amount of rotating mass is equal to Y static mass???
If you have 20lb stock rims and you slap on some 14lb forged rims, you shaved 24lbs of rotating mass (6lbs x 4wheels) just by swapping wheels. How much would that equal in static mass?
Another excellent item for weight lose are the rotors. I think Pruven makes some 2 piece rotors with aluminum center hats.
