AEM flatline

Did you happen to check the Cam angle sensor? We had the exact same problem with one of our Evo's. Swapped out the CAS and the problem was gone. They seem to not like too much heat. I believe that's why the HKS timeattack Evo has a heat shield over it.

Paul,

Voltage isn't the same thing as amperage. That guy from the presious post might be right, with the water pump and CDI, you might very well consider a larger output alternator. You should almost always read somewhere between 13.5 and 14.5 even with a dead battery. Amperage is a whole other story... Think of voltage as HP, and amperage as the torque. The torque is what gets you moving, not the HP.. I would heavily suggest at least trying one..

On another note, I was over at GSC helping him assemble a few things on his motor for his time attack car, that's a nice head you have on there. Props to both of you.. (You and GSC)

You would think the alternator could handle the amperage especially with the ac gone, acd, wipers, sunroof etc Ill stick a amp probe on it and see what the voltage is under some load

Is the AEM battery voltage pulling down on the logs? I would take the time to meter the pull down right on your permanent 12v to the CDI box during a pull.

We were fighting some fuel pump issues once and we're surprised to see a large pull down right at the device despite the fact that the AEM logs showed little voltage drop. The CDIs are supposed to be stable even at a low voltage so it probably isn't this but it's still worth addressing if the drop is substantial.

I still would bank on the CAS. Are you logging stat sync and timing errors. Is anything funky being recorded during the anomaly? Make sure you record these with the internal logger as the laptop may not be quick enough.
