Dealership Warrenty question..help

I recently took my evo into the shop due to the fact of the consistent grinding in 4th gear to see wat the problem is. i bought my car in 2005 and i have 33500 miles on it. They call and tell me that its something wrong with my transmission and are going to disesemble my tranny to see what the problem is (which costs me 700$)...they then later called me to say the mitsubishi rep looked at my car and said that they are going to deny it under warrety due to the mods that i have done to my car...but i didnt do any mods to the transmission and they are saying that the mods i have could of caused a "defect" to the transmission..with the mods i have, should they still fix that under warrenty or are they bull*****en me?

I've seen people get denied warranty work for just an exhaust, let alone somebody as far into the mod path as yourself. You are pretty much out of luck for getting your work done under warranty.

I've gotten warranty work done with my exhaust and an intake on. Depends on the dealer.

Take your transmission to Shep. Honestly for $700, you could have almost rebuilt the whole thing.

Are you kidding me? You've been on this forum since February 2005 and you have never learned that dealerships will void our warranties at the drop of a dime and especially with the power adder modifications you have done. Your best bet is to take your clutch to an aftermarket company, like Shep, and have it serviced through them. It will be cheaper and you will get a better and stronger product in the end.

You have an extensive MOD list that increases HP/TQ (360 whp/ 360 torque), which in turn causes additional strain on tranny.

Mitsubishi is using this as a reason to deny your claim.

What did you expect?

Anything more than just std. bolt ons voids warranty immediatly with my experience. (ex. exhaust, intake, etc....)
