Relay warranty issues

So... I called my dealership and told them I was having issues starting the car up in the morning during cold nights. (which did happen alot in winter) and told them about the TSR for it. Gave them the part number and emailed the TSR to them( IDK why the hell they asked me to do that). They then told me the relays are 43.56$ each because I was going to buy 4 plus the grey relay. I told them that it should be covered under warrenty he then told me I would need my car to be inspected. I asked how I would get back to work and such. SOlution was they would give me a rental. Now I know the parts cost like 10 bucks each becuase I can get them for that price just buy doing a small search of competitors, So I told him it would prolly be easier to negate the cost of the rental and just give me the relays and install them (or me). He then told me that only 1 relay was covered. I finally told him that if they were going to be this stingy on 60 dollers worth of parts for a covered warrenty problem that has been noted and sent out to dealerships. How can I trust any warrenty covered issues in the future, especially with the amount of money I payed for the car.

So frustrating I'm just going to order the relays myself. OH which reminds me he said that I can void the warrenty by doing it myself or getting relays online....like fml this dealership sucks ***

What's the name of the dealership so I NEVER go there for service. Seriously! What's with the run around? Voiding your warranty for stock parts??? Absurd!

damn... they did the same thing to me here in SOCAL!!!

every dealership i called provide the TSB for the relay said i had to bring the ralliart in and they have to inspect the ralliart and reproduce the problem...

my problem is its knocking on WOT.... because of the fuel relay is toggling to the lower voltage when the engine rocks backward on WOT... i did the salt shaker test and it rattles like a spray can! lol

im on cobb ap stage 2 map with full 3" turbo back with test pipe and a k&n filter

the tech i talked to said if thats is what it is doing... its not on the TSB we cant warranty it...

F-ING LAME.... but he did tell me if the RECALL comes up then just keep the receipt for the relays and labor and they will refund me the whole amount....

this is SOP for any dealer, for any manufacturer. TSB is not a recall and the problem still has to be verified... and there is no dealer on the planet that will give you the parts to warranty yourself.

If you're modded, just pay it yourself to avoid further issues down the road if you need the warranty.

At least your dealer would give you a rental. I had to argue for one and didn't even win. With the amount I spent on my car the least they could do is give me a rental!!!

can you send me the official info you gave the dealer? TSR, etc..? a dealer here in canada doesn't know what's up when i took my 08 mr in because of your exact problems. though mine started in the cold, but would have issues at 5-10 degrees celsius. weird. i told them about the relay issue and they just shrugged their shoulders after they couldn't reproduce the issue.
