put in the evo 8 turbo and just watch your afrs. but you would definitely need a tune. try researching if your ecu is reflashable. try openecu.org. if not then it would be good to try an evo ecu. when swapping ecus just make sure you have an ecu pinout diagram for both ecu just to make sure they match. i remember seeing some 4g93t in a surplus shop and don't they have mivec on it?

Chassis Code is CM5A

Engine pic will be up tomorrow, gonna take some pics in the morning

The ECU is not flashable, I'd have to do the same thing that Evo5 and 6 owners do and get a 7 or 8 ECU for any kind of reflashing.

Nope no Mivec, The Mivec in the same body as mine, is the 4G92 1.6L engine, and comes FWD, rated at 175 bhp from Mitsubishi Japan.

I know many Aussie and NewZealand guys have put the Mivec head from the 1.6, onto the 1.8L 4G93 turbocharged block with some sort of stand alone EMS with Mivec support. They've had a lot of success but as of right now I'm not very familiar with Mivec and what it entails to get it to work on the GSR 1.8T bottom end.

I prefer Mistulogger but thats just me. It seems to be more accurate for logging the fuel trims and such and it has support for a good number of widebands.

The 7/us8 ecu will work but a few wire changes are necessary as with the 4/5/6. I have done it on a 1997 Lancer GLX previously. The most difficult part will be getting the MAF compensation and injector compensation right. Since you might be doing an E-flash, it would be easier/quiker to just get Evo injectors and MAF.

Can the MAF and ECU be used interchangeably between the evo7 and 8?

Thanks for your input, makes a lot of sense to use all evo components, it will just run pig rich, then it's time for a tune.
