Are you referring to the pcv with check valve that is near the firewall and connects to the intake manifold for vacuum? If so then I believe its screw on type, and you can just tighten it back on to the valve cover.

I think that will cause air to go back into the motor. I just had this issue at the track and it blew my oil dipstick out, spewing oil all over my engine bay.

no im talking about the fitting that is supposed to be pressure fitted to the valve cover that attaches to the pcv valve. we just took off my valve cover to see if a rocker came off and we noticed this?

So your referring to the part that attaches to the valve cover itself and not the check valve.

It should be snug fit. I'm not sure if it screws in or if its pressed/glued on, but it shouldnt cause any damage. It might cause some idling since there is a chance of sucking in un metered air similar to running a breather on one side like some intake systems force you to do.

Engine heat and oil contamination causes the foam rubber collar to crack and shrink over time. So, just get a new PCV from the Mitsu dealer.

What was done to fix this? The fitting that goes into the valve cover is popping out on me under boost; I'm talking about the piece that the PCV valve screws onto.

That causes boost leak and will make you car run pretty slow. Your spool up will be slower and you'll have to step down on the gas more to get your car going. I know because my hose was loose causing a boost leak.

Not it my case, I don't have the PCV being fed off the intake manifold. I'm not even running a PCV valve, just a straight barbed fitting to vent the valve cover to a catch can. Is there some sort of adhesive I can apply to the fitting to keep it secured in the valve cover?

I'm having similar problems. After doing some pulls I can pop the hood and see oil all over that area. Replaced oil fill gasket and checked pcv valve and everything seems fine but the fitting on the valve cover that the pcv valve screws onto is kinda loose.

What I did to fix the fitting from popping out was clean the fitting and the hole in the valvecover. Then I applied metal epoxy to the fitting just enough for where it sits in the valvecover. Let it cure over night and it will be cemented in and not move.
